Gymnastics At The 2024 Summer Olympics In Paris Qualification And Competition Format

**Gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris: Qualification and Competition Format**

**Qualification**

Gymnasts qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris through a series of qualifying competitions and quotas. The most common way to qualify is through the World Championships, held in 2023.

For men's gymnastics, the top 12 teams and 20 individual gymnasts will qualify through the World Championships. For women's gymnastics, the top 12 teams and 20 individual gymnasts will qualify.

In addition, there are a number of continental and regional qualification tournaments that will award spots to the Olympics. These tournaments will be held in 2024.

**Competition Format**

The gymnastics competition at the Olympics will be held in two phases: qualification and finals.

In the qualification round, gymnasts will compete on all four apparatus (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise for women; and floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar for men). The top 24 gymnasts in the all-around competition will advance to the all-around final, and the top eight gymnasts on each apparatus will advance to the apparatus finals.

In the finals, gymnasts will compete on the same apparatus as they did in qualification. The gymnast with the highest score in each final will win the gold medal.

**Teams**

Teams of four gymnasts will compete in the team competition. The team with the highest combined score in the qualification round will win the gold medal.

**Individual Events**

Individual gymnasts will compete in the all-around competition and the apparatus finals. The gymnast with the highest combined score in the all-around competition will win the gold medal, and the gymnast with the highest score on each apparatus in the apparatus finals will win the gold medal for that apparatus.
